Holloway Poetry Series: Roger Reeves

Join us on Thursday, February 22nd for Roger Reeves’s Holloway Poetry Series reading at UC Berkeley’s Wheeler Hall. The event will begin with a reception at 5:45pm, followed by the reading at 6:30pm.

Pegasus Books will be the bookseller for this event; books will be available for purchase and signing. The Holloway Poetry Series is free and open to all audiences. Read more about the series here.

About the author:

Roger Reeves's poems have appeared in journals such as PoetryPloughshares, American Poetry ReviewBoston Review, and Tin House, among others. Kim Addonizio selected “Kletic of Walt Whitman” for the Best New Poets 2009 anthology. He was awarded a 2013 NEA Fellowship, Ruth Lilly Fellowship by the Poetry Foundation in 2008, two Bread Loaf Scholarships, an Alberta H. Walker Scholarship from the Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center, and two Cave Canem Fellowships. His most recent poetry collection, Best Barbarian, was a Finalist for the 2022 National Book Award for Poetry, the PEN/Voelcker Award for Poetry Collection, and the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work. In 2023, Dark Days: Fugitive Essays, from Graywolf Press. Reeves earned his PhD at the University of Texas-Austin and is currently an assistant professor of poetry at the University of Illinois, Chicago (Poetry Foundation).
